Haitian Earthquake Relief

I am sure you have all seen the news this past weeks of the devastation occurring in Haiti. As you know, our church theme for this year is "Externally Focused, Internally Strong: Moving Beyond Church Doors." With that in mind, I made  an appeal to the members of Mount Zion Baptist Church to bring a "special" donation, beyond your tithes, on Sunday, January 17, 2010, to help the people of Haiti. Scripture tells us that we shall be "witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." It is my sincere prayer that we will be a tangible expression of God's love to the people of Haiti. You may continue to give to this cause on our Give Online page. So, please join me as we further engage in being Externally Focused and Internally Strong.

This video, We Will Rise, was produced by Mount Zion member Lisa Youngblood.  The song was composed by Stefan Youngblood.

Externally Focused, Internally Strong

I want to personally welcome you to our website. God is doing marvelous things here at Mount Zion Baptist Church. We are a Christ-Centered Church that is committed to reflecting the character of Christ to the world and making Him the nucleus of all that we do. As a Christ-Centered Church we believe that knowing and loving God with every single fiber of one’s being leads to a profound transformation in all of one’s relationships. We are a church that is committed to meeting the spiritual needs of the whole family.

Our Worship Celebrations are held at 7:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. each Sunday. We also have a Wednesday Prayer Service at 12:00 noon and a Wednesday night Prayer and Praise Service that begins at 7:00 p.m. Each of these worship experiences creates the space within which we can be ushered into the presence of God and experience the joy of deepening our relationship with God. Indeed, I am convinced that you will find worship at Mount Zion to be edifying, participatory, spiritually fulfilling, transformational, inviting, and culturally relevant.
